Description
x10 SILIKON is a decorative façade render designed for exterior finishing where strong water repellence, weather resistance and good vapour permeability are required. Silicone façade finishes are particularly suitable for exposed elevations because they are designed to limit liquid-water uptake while still allowing water vapour to pass through the coating system.
The product is intended for decorative protection of façades and may also be used on suitable interior wall surfaces. Compatible substrates can include fine mineral plasters, reinforced base coats in external thermal insulation systems, concrete, fibre-cement boards, plasterboard and other stable surfaces approved in Reder’s technical documentation. The substrate must be dry, firm, level and clean. Dust, grease, salts, loose material, algae, mould and unstable old coatings must be removed or professionally treated before application. Any defects in the substrate should be repaired and allowed to dry completely.
A suitable Reder primer should be applied before x10 SILIKON, ideally in a shade compatible with the final render. Priming improves adhesion, regulates substrate absorption and supports a more uniform decorative appearance. Mix the material thoroughly at low speed before application. If any adjustment of consistency is permitted, only clean water should be used and only within the limits stated by Reder.
The render is typically applied with a stainless-steel trowel in a layer corresponding approximately to the aggregate grain size. The desired structure is then formed with a hard plastic trowel using circular, vertical or horizontal movements depending on the selected finish. Work continuously wet-on-wet on complete architectural sections to avoid visible joining lines. Tools should be kept clean during structuring and washed with water after use.
x10 SILIKON is supplied in 25 kg packaging and is intended as a premium decorative finish for façades exposed to demanding weather conditions. It should not be applied in rain, fog, strong wind, frost conditions or intense direct sunlight. Exact granulation, consumption, colour range, drying times, application temperatures, biological protection and technical performance classifications must be taken from the current Reder technical data sheet and product label.
