Description
x10 MOSAIK is a decorative mosaic render based on a binder system with coloured mineral granulates, intended to create a dense, visually distinctive and durable wall finish. Mosaic renders are most commonly used on plinths, entrance zones, columns, stair areas and other architectural details where a decorative granular surface and increased resistance to everyday exposure are desirable.
The product is suitable for properly prepared exterior and interior wall surfaces such as cement and lime-cement plasters, concrete, levelling compounds, mineral renders and compatible boards or base coats approved by Reder. It is particularly effective on façade plinth zones above ground level. It should not be used on permanently damp substrates, below-ground surfaces, floors or horizontal areas where water can accumulate. Substrate moisture problems must be solved before application because a decorative mosaic finish is not a waterproofing system.
The substrate must be dry, firm, smooth and clean. Remove dust, grease, salts, loose particles and unstable coatings. Uneven areas should be repaired so that the final layer can be applied at a consistent thickness. Before x10 MOSAIK is installed, use the appropriate Reder primer in a compatible colour. Priming helps improve adhesion, regulates absorption and reduces the possibility of the substrate affecting the final appearance.
Mix the material carefully with a slow-speed electric mixer until the granulates are evenly distributed. Avoid excessive mixing or dilution, as this can affect the binder-to-granulate balance and the final visual result. Apply by hand with a stainless-steel trowel at approximately grain thickness and smooth the material while it is still wet. Work continuously on complete sections to avoid visible joints and maintain a consistent direction and pressure during finishing.
Once cured, a mosaic render is intended to provide a decorative, water-repellent and washable surface with good resistance to UV radiation and normal weather exposure. x10 MOSAIK is supplied in 25 kg packaging. Exact grain size, colour combinations, consumption, drying time, permitted dilution, application conditions and substrate limitations should be checked in the current Reder technical data sheet. Because the appearance depends strongly on granulate distribution and workmanship, a representative test area is recommended before applying the product to a large visible surface.
